The Laurel Gorge Cultural Heritage Center first opened its doors to visitors in 2003. It is located on property owned by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Huntington District and is maintained by the Elliott County Fiscal Court. LGCHC is located on 182 Cultural Center Road, just off the Laurel Curves Road.

Visitors are welcome to tour the museum, enjoy a picnic lunch on the deck, walk the hiking trails, and enjoy the beauty of the Laurel Gorge. The main trail system is approximately three miles with an additional 2+ miles of primitive trails. Wood boardwalks, cliff walls, rock shelters, creeks, and a waterfall are all features you will find along this scenic trail system. Picnic areas, a kayak launch, and rental facilities are also available. Watch for our crafting classes, craft and vendor fairs, and other special events on our Facebook page.
